needles, syringes and lancets must be placed in a rigid, puncture resistant
container with a secure closure.

of July 1996, sharps from Dutchess County households can be taken to area
hospitals for proper disposal. Some area hospitals offer approved
containers for sale. |

Sharps in
improper containers can cause injury to sanitation workers handling your
household trash. |

Used Sharps
Cannot Be Recycled! Sharps containers should never be placed in recycling
bins. |

Northern
Dutchess Hospital:
|
|
Residents
may bring their sharps containers to Plant Services Monday through Friday 8AM to
4PM. For more information contact Northern Dutchess Hospital at (845)

MidHudson Regional Hospital:
|
|
Sharps containers
will be accepted Mon thru Fri between 6:30AM and 10PM and Sat & Sun between
7:30AM and 4PM in the Resource Center on the 1st
Floor in the Thome Building. Call (845) 483-5000. Or, you may also
drop off quart size or smaller sharps containers in the black kiosk
near the Turning Point entrance. |

Brothers Hospital:

containers will be accepted by requesting a security officer at the
info desk in the main lobby, everyday between 8AM and 8PM.
